Why the Assessment and Referral Court works

Did you know there’s a court working to reduce the overrepresentation of offenders with mental health issues, acquired brain injuries and other cognitive impairments? For some people, coming to court is the first time they have been able to access mental health treatment, care and support.

The Assessment and Referral Court (ARC), a specialist list of the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria, helps offenders who have a mental health condition and/or cognitive impairment to engage in treatment and support services to address the underlying causes of their offending.

Join Magistrate Ros Porter and other members of the ARC team, to hear how ARC works and the role it’s playing in transforming people’s lives.
