The Art of Justice

What happens when a court becomes an art gallery?

Given the power of art to provoke and critique established thinking and institutions, it’s a bold move to display unfiltered community art in a justice centre — but that’s exactly what Australia’s first community justice centre does.

Collingwood’s Neighbourhood Justice Centre regularly invites local residents to transform the court into an art gallery.  It turns out there’s an art to justice and justice in art.

Join leading Australian new media artist Bindi Cole Chocka, community art expert Laila Costa, artist Ching Ching and Magistrate David Fanning to explore how progressive justice solutions are often the most creative and what can be accomplished when people take ownership of the court.
