Must Love Coffee (and Know How to Zoom): The Privileges, Perils and Percolations of Life as a Victorian Barrister in the Age of COVID-19

The Victorian Bar is a professional association of proudly independent and fearless advocates.

A barrister is a lawyer with specialist skills in advocacy before the courts, dispute resolution, strategy and advice. It’s a diverse, interesting, challenging and rewarding legal career, often involving trials and tribulations, some of which include navigating work / life balance, having a family, being part of a community, and finding things to talk about with your friends other than the law.

The Victorian Bar itself is a collective of diverse legal practitioners with a wide range of backgrounds who enjoy working in many different areas of legal practice, but members of the Victorian Bar share a real sense of collegiality inside and outside the court room.

The Victorian Bar proudly presents an evening’s panel discussion featuring eminent, dynamic (and technologically adept!) barristers, willing to openly share how they survive and thrive in their lives at the Bar, especially navigating challenging and rapidly changing times like the advent of COVID-19 and its impacts on legal practice and the justice system generally.
