K9 display with Barwon Prison Dog Squad

This interactive 70-minute display will showcase the history and origins of the Barwon Prison Dog Squad from its beginnings at Pentridge.

Learn how many K9s are working in the corrections system, and the roles and functions of the unit. Check out SHERPA the escort vehicle and a K9 demonstration that shows how the dogs are trained and what their capabilities are.

The event will finish with a hands-on display showing how the K9s detect narcotics, with audience participation and an obedience display.
