Accessing legal support is often confusing and difficult. For refugees and recent arrivals, who are particularly vulnerable, it can seem almost impossible.
This Law Week event gives recent arrivals, Adult Migrant English Program students and members of the general public in Melbourne’s north to connect with their local community legal centre, grab some free resources and improve their awareness of their legal rights and the services available to them.
Need help with a tenancy problem, debts or fines, bills, Centrelink? Want to find out what your legal rights your visa type grants you? Come and have a chat with a lawyer at Melbourne Polytechnic in Broadmeadows and arm yourself with some legal knowledge.
Presented by Northern Community Legal Centre.
We encourage you to take public transport to Law Week events. Plan your trip using the Public Transport Victoria Journey Planner.
Funded by a grant from Victoria Law Foundation.
