Consent and the law

Join County Court judges as they discuss how consent is defined in law, what it looks like in reality and what factors complicate giving or accepting consent.

Students aged 15 and above and their teachers will be taken through the life cycle of consent, and in the age of digital abundance, this doesn’t just include face-to-face interactions but online and virtual ones as well, including sexting and cyber bullying. The panel will discuss the many ways in which consent interacts with law, and attendees will have the opportunity to have ask questions they may have about the topic.

Attendees are encouraged to submit questions ahead of the session. Please email questions to communications@countycourt.vic.gov.au with the subject line ‘Consent and the Law’.

This event will be held on Zoom. Bookings essential.
