Behind the Lines: the Year in Political Cartoons 2021
It was a year of the ‘new normal.’ With ever-present predictive models Australia’s cartoonists made us laugh just as often as they made us think. But most of all they comforted us in the uncertainty that was the year 2021.
This year’s edition of ‘Behind the Lines: the year in political cartoons 2021’ focuses on the chance and prophecy of the past year. With continuing lockdowns and vaccine hesitancy, the cartoonists managed to reduce complex issues and emotions to bite-sized images. Don’t miss this entertaining exhibition travelling from the Museum of Australian Democracy at its only Melbourne venue!
